He is survived by: his wife Glynis; his children, Lisa Beard Thomas (Scott Thomas), Heather Beard Henderson (Jason Henderson) and Chris; his daughter-in-law Karen Beard; his grandchildren, Krista Thomas (Michael Sardo), Ridge Thomas (Stephanie), Jenna Beard Smith (Sam), Chandler Beard (Hannah Culp), Alexa Thomas (Josiah Johnson), Isabella Thomas, Gabriella Thomas, Graci Glynis Henderson and Ava Thomas; his great grandchildren, Everett Charles Smith and Skylar Casale; and his siblings, Rosie Beard Scott of Linden and Gary W. Beard of Douglasville, Texas..

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to St. Jude's Hospital for Children.
