He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Alexander Steele and Cecil Margurite Broom Steele; his son Royce Edward Steele; and his brother Ernest Edward Steele. He is survived by: his wife Helen Justice Steele; his children, Charles Phillip Steele of York and Margee Blanton (Nathan) of Rock Hill; his niece Virginia Harley (David) of Irmo; and his nephew Alex Steele (Tonya) of Lancaster. He is also survived by six grandchildren, four great grandchildren.
