She was predeceased by: her parents, Marvin F. Sharpe Sr. and Mabel Coleman Sharpe; her husband John L. Sanders; and her son John L. Sanders Jr.. She is survived by: her sons, Frank M. Sanders (Janie) and Robert "Bobby" O. Sanders (Lori); her brother Marvin F. Sharpe Jr. (Lillian); and her grandchildren, Jonathen M. Sanders (Sarah McCain), Janie S. Carnes (Matt) and Lauren N. Sanders (Tara). She is also survived by six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
