She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas C. Duncan and Frances Laws Duncan; and her husband Mark Thorton Stearns (Eastern Airlines). She is survived by: her children, Mark Stearns (Sheri) of McKinney and Cynthia Johnson (Gary) of Rock Hill; and her grandchildren, Matt Johnson (Jordan), Anna Mehr (Spencer), Heather Stearns (Austin Hisler) and Tyler Stearns.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Almeda Stearns's name to First Presbyterian Church.
