He was predeceased by: his parents, Medicus James and Emily Victoria Smoak Stack; and his siblings, Alberta Ocain Craven, Luie Belle Rickenbaker, Estelle Muckenfuss, Frances Smith, M. J. Stack, Jr., Milton Stack and Leland Stack.
He is survived by: his siblings, Harold Stack (Blanche) of West Jefferson, NC and Lurine Doris Knight of Bethune, SC. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
