He was predeceased by: his parents, Owen Roosevelt and Pearl Phillips Lowther; and his siblings, R. B. Lowther, Ellen Hogsett, Audrey Altman and Thelma Day.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Blount Lowther; and his children, Krey Lowther (Faye), Angel Usher (Steve), Gay Finch (Robbie), Tonya Jackson (James), Nikki Mason (Scott) and Hayley Eby (Jeremy). He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
