He was predeceased by: his parents, John Walter Malphrus and Golda Lowther Malphrus; his former wife Ruth Herndon Malphrus; and his stepson Danny Morris. He is survived by: his wife Mary Floyd Malphrus; his children, Tammy Bonds (Buzz), Ron Malphrus (Dine) and Kathy Cowart (Don); his stepchildren, David Morris (Dale) and Diane Echols; his grandchildren, Ashley Bonds Lamb (Jeffrey), Bradley Bonds, Taylor Cowart (Jennifer), Ryan Cowart and Caroline Malphrus; and his stepgrandchildren, Marianne Echols Hawkins (Jerel), Matthew Echols (Lily), Jessica Morris and Brian Morris. He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren.
