He is survived by: his close friend Mamie Gilbert; his children, Jonae Gathers of Philadelphia, PA and Jonathan Gilbert of Wedgefield; his stepdaughter Tamika Gilbert of Wedgefield; his siblings, Shirley Jefferson of Sumter, Sallie Issac (Roosevelt) of Sumter, Wyatt Hunter (Joyce) of Washington, DC, James Hunter of Norfolk, VA, Gene Hunter of California, Robert Lee Hunter (Ernestine) of Sumter, Keith Hunter of Sumter, George Hunter (Deloris) of Sumter and John Earl Hunter (Connie) of Sumter; his uncle Mack Hunter of New York; and his aunts, Ella Bell Boykin of Camden and Margaret Jordan of Camden. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
