He was predeceased by: his parents, James Simon, Jr. and Charlotte Haynesworth Simon; and his siblings, Morris H. Simon, Willie Simon, Lillie Mae Simon and Lester Reed.
He is survived by: his daughters, Janey Charlottea and Janea Charlotte; his wife Katina Darby Simon; his daughters, Katrina Elease Simon, Shawand Wright Alston (Rasheen) and Erieka Taylor; his grandson Ernest Dennis; his brothers, Leroy Simon (Charlene) of Austin, TX, Arthur Simon (Gail), Anthony Simon (Joyce) of Rembert, SC and Ralph Simon (Sandra) of Laurens, SC; his siblings-in-law, Nadine Reed of Newark, NJ, Wendy D. Gunter of Greenville, SC, Dana B Smith of Columbia, SC and Frank Myers of Columbia, SC; and his cousins, Samuel Jenkins and Deacon Joseph Williams. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
