She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Y. Postell and Nina Strickland Postell; and her siblings, Tommy, Clyde, Bert, Winston, Gerald, Will, Bill and Eddie Postell.
She is survived by: her husband Gerald K. Platt, Sr. of Ravenel, SC; her children, Gerald Platt, Jr. and Valerie Durr (Robbie); her grandson Timothy Durr; and her siblings, Barbara Crosby and David Postell (Debbie).
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel (3360 Glenn McConnell Pkwy, Charleston, SC 29414). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at the Live Oak Memorial Gardens (3093 Ashley River Rd, Charleston, SC 29414).
