She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. W. E. Bryant and Mary Byrd Creel Bryant; her children, Dawn McAndrew Avant and James Joseph McAndrew III; and her brother Walter Stephen Bryant.
She is survived by: her daughter Dr. Eve Badger (Brian); her grandchildren, Michaela Jae McAndrew, Joseph Michael McAndrew, Jeremy Avant, Jordan Avant and Raegan Hope Badger; her sister Hope Bryant Huggins (John); and her son-in-law Mark Avant.
