He was predeceased by : his wife Elizabeth Frances Alexander; his parents, Burton Alexander and Gertrude Mindermann Alexander; and his grandson Stephen Allen Alexander. He is survived by : his children, Stephen Bernard Alexander (Paula) and Pamela Alexander-Powell (Scott); and his brother George (Caroline). He is also survived by six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
