Valjean L. Matthews Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Valjean L. Matthews of Prosperity, South Carolina, born in Saluda, South Carolina, who passed away on March 28, 2023 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis Ashmore and Annie Christine Bladon Matthews; his brothers, Landrum Matthews, Garrett Matthews and Durhal Lee Matthews; and his grandson-in-law Kenneth Walker.
He is survived by: his children, Wanda Taylor (Bobby) of Prosperity, Anthony Matthews (Sebrena) of Prosperity and Donna Eichstaedt of Lexington; his grandchildren, Brandon Koon (Elyse), Brian Koon, Lesley Taylor (Marcus Loner), Meagan Walker, Mallory O'Dell (Teal) and Emily Eichstaedt; his great grandchildren, Halle Koon, Hayden Koon, Dalton Koon, Wyatt Koon, Zayne Loner, Dawson Loner and Abbi O'Dell; and his pet Skippy. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
