He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Cole and Nina Mae Waters Nichols; and his brothers, Raeford Nichols and Bernard Nichols. He is survived by: his wife Wilma Boozer Nichols; his children, Thomas Matthew Nichols, Jr. (Tina) of Prosperity and Elizabeth Thompson (Jonny) of Lexington; and his granddaughters, Katie Thompson and Emmie Thompson.
