He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Roscoe Shirey and Margaret Williams Gartman; his son Robert John Shirey; his parents-in-law, Mary Lou Hutto and George Alexander Rauch; and his brother-in-law Randall Rauch.
He is survived by: his wife Marlene Rauch Shirey; his son Justin Kyle Shirey; his sisters, Teresa O. Purvis (Glenn, Sr.) and Crystal Lynn Floyd (Austin); his stepsiblings, Deena Wintersteen (Mark), Sherry Powers (Mike) and Charlie Smith (Liz); his nieces and nephews, Glenn Purvis, Jr. (Kelly) and Gary Purvis (Cindi); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Peyten Purvis, Chase Wada, Khloe Purvis and Sadie Purvis.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home (1724 Main St, Newberry, SC 29108).
