He was predeceased by: his parents, James Ira and Florence Eargle Hamm; and his sisters, Emily Mitchell and Rachel Reeves. He is survived by: his wife Violet Simmons Hamm; and his children, James Ralph Hamm, Jr. (Mary Ann) of Bahama, NC, Ira Bennett Hamm of Fayetteville, NC, Elizabeth Ann Young of Newberry and Mary Hamm Keith (John) of Rock Hill. He is also survived by five grandchildren and three great-grandsons.
