He is survived by: his wife Lois Jane Brown Bowers; his daughters, Tracy Michelle Bowers Bledsoe (Chuck) and Elizabeth Ann Bowers Weaver (Dan); his siblings, Wilbur Otis Bates, Jr. of Prosperity, Jeanette Bowers Anderson, June Bates Nichols, Barbara Bowers Livingston and Wanda Bates Brewer; and his grandchildren, Hunter Evan Moore, Evan Troy Weaver, Hudley Grace Weaver and Chase Haring Weaver.
