He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Edward and Clare Patricia Mitchell (Havey); and his sister Beverly Gallant. He is survived by: his wife Maureen; his sons, Joseph E. Mitchell, III (Debbie) and Brian J. Mitchell (Beth); and his grandchildren, J. Ethan Mitchell, Allison Mitchell, Clare Mitchell and Madeline Mitchell.
