He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward and Emily Wright Whitten. He is survived by: his wife Katie; his daughter Alexis McClester (Lance); his grandchildren, Iris, Grayson and Sister Lynn Barley (Bill); and his brothers, Paul Whitten, Stan Whitten (Beth) and Steve Whitten (Kristin). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
