It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Herbert Payton of Prosperity, South Carolina, born in Iva, South Carolina, who passed away on November 2, 2020, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Payton and Inez Payton. He is survived by: his wife Laverne Ivester Payton; his children, Michael Payton (Lee) of Prosperity and Samantha Mangum (Michael) of Charleston; his brother David Payton of Greenwood; his grandchildren, Nicole Tucker (Austin) and Hayley Hawkins; his great grandchildren, Caroline, Aiden and Jacob; and his pet Princess.
