He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Herbert and Helen Ida Pollard (Dick); his siblings, Mabel Ann Kennett (Alden) and Herbert Lee Pollard; and his brother-in-law Richard Lifter.

He is survived by: his wife Ellen Jean (O'Neill) of Prosperity, SC; his children, Harold Walter Pollard Jr. (Melissa) of Lexington, SC, Patricia Ann Taylor (Paul) of Chapin, SC and Brian Scott Pollard (Kerry) of Tavares, FL; his grandchildren, Andrew Paul Taylor (Sarah), Kelsey Taylor Lynch (William), Zachary Douglas Taylor, Harold Walter Pollard III, Nolan Dwight Pollard, Joshua Edward Pollard and Riley Scott Pollard; his great grandchildren, Taylor Grace Lynch, Camden Christopher Lynch, Miller Fincher Lynch and Ava Drew Taylor; his siblings, Marion Lifter and David Pollard (Mary Lou); and his siblings-in-law, Mary Alice Pollard, Ronald O'Neill (Sarah) and Lawrence O'Neill (Stephanie). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Boys Town of Newberry, SC, Salvation Army or Disabled American Vets.
