He was predeceased by: his parents, Ulysses George Roberts and Dessie Irene Cowart Roberts; his son James E. Roberts; his brother Donald W. Roberts; and his close friends, Margie, Mike Goeke and W. C. Roberts (Dub).
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Arnold Roberts; his children, Chris D. Roberts (Gina) and Tina R. Griffin (Brad); his grandchildren, J. Hunter Roberts (Teddy), Dr. Erin F. Warren (Blake), Whitney R. Caldwell (Chase) and Haley E. Griffin; his great grandchild Oaklee E. Roberts; and his mother-in-law Elizabeth Arnold.
