She was predeceased by: her parents, William Conrad Byars and Lou Anne Proctor Byars; and her brother Roger Charles Byars. She is survived by: her husband Richard "Rick" Mercer; her children, Richard Conrad Mercer (Angela) of Newberry and Elizabeth Warner (Stacey) of Summerville; and her siblings, Laura Lindler (Kris) of Irmo and William Conrad Byars, Jr. of Prosperity. She is also survived by five grandchildren.
