It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Matthews of Prosperity, South Carolina, who passed away on October 7, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her spouse Valjean L. "Pig" Matthews; her parents, Homer Oscar and Daisy Manona "Nonie" Hawkins Hendrix; and her grandson-in-law Kenneth Walker. She is survived by: her children, Wanda Taylor (Bobby) of Prosperity, Anthony Matthews (Sebrena) of Prosperity and Donna Eichstaedt of Lexington; her brothers, Richard Hendrix (Margaret) of Prosperity and Von Hendrix (Jean) of Prosperity; her grandchildren, Brandon Koon (Elyse), Brian Koon, Lesley Taylor (Marcus Loner), Meagan Walker, Mallory O'Dell (Teal) and Emily Eichstaedt; her great grandchildren, Halle Koon, Hayden Koon, Dalton Koon, Wyatt Koon, Zayne Loner, Dawson Loner and Abbi O'Dell; and her pet Skippy. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
