She was predeceased by: her parents, Jessie Horace Settles and Katie Morgan Settles; her husband William Gilchrist; her brothers, James Otis and Joseph Settles; her daughter Angela Faye Gilchrist; and her nephew Thomas Corbett Settles.
She is survived by: her daughters, Jennifer L. Hill, Karen Moton of Greenwood, SC and Nadine Gilchrist; her grandchildren, Ghatari Cunningham, Javarius Hill, Brillyance Ramsey (Quentin) and Kaylon McGraw; her brothers, John L. Settles (Annette) of McCormick, SC, Apostle E. and, DC (Thomas C. Settles) of Washington; her brother-in-law Eddie Gilchrist (Arleen) of Plum Branch, SC; her niece Barbara Gilchrist Sanders (Peggy); and her sisters, Julia Mae Gilchrist (Annie Neely), Sandra Stanley Perkins of Gurnee, IL, Sylvia Bell of McCormick, SC and Rae Clifton (Willie Burroughs) of Atlanta, GA. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other close relatives, and sorrowing friends.
