He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Beth Easterling Smoak; his parents, Carlyle Rice and Leatrice Hudson Smoak; his children, Kathryn Smoak Nexsen (Josh) and Michael Carlyle Smoak, Jr. (Samantha); his grandchildren, Beth Nexsen, Jay Nexsen, Charlotte Nexsen, Mary Kate Smoak and Hudson Smoak; and his sisters, Delores Thomas (Joe) and Judy Bridge (late Jack Bridge). He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Trinity Church (1915 Pinopolis Rd, Pinopolis, SC 29469). Visitation was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at 11:45 AM at the same location. A reception was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Parish Hall.
