With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Merl Dodge Jr. of Pinopolis, South Carolina, born in Charlotte, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 20, 2024 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Merl may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Merl touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle Edwin Dodge, Sr. and Eleanor LaBorde Hennies Dodge. He is survived by: his sons, Michael Edwin Dodge of Columbia and Stephen Price Dodge (Robin) of Summerville; and his grandchildren, Hayleigh Ashtin Dodge, Erin Grace Dodge and Dylan Paul Dodge.
In Lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be made to the St. Michael Lutheran Church, 321 West Main Street, Moncks Corner, SC 29461 or to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
