It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wardell Owens Jr. of Piedmont, South Carolina, who passed away on June 25, 2023, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parent Wardell Owens, Sr.. He is survived by: his parent Rev. Estell Henderson Owens; his wife Barbara Wilson Owens; his children, Steven Owens (Jessica) of Piedmont, SC, Tanya Owens Williams of Fort Mill, SC, Alicia Blackwell (Russell) of Simpsonville, SC and Jeremy Owens of Piedmont, SC; and his siblings, Vivian Grayden (Ernest), Harvey Owens (Kay), Tibitha Henry, Goraline Henry, Sacajawea Blassingame (Howard) and Gerald Owens. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
