He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Mathis and Earlene Jones Mathis. He is survived by: his children, Cinnamon Mathis of Newberry, SC and Christopher Glymph of Newberry, SC; and his siblings, Carrie Camack of Blair, SC, Johny J. Mathis of Newberry, SC and TJ Mathis of Newberry, SC. He is also survived by 2 sisters-in-law; 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
