He is survived by: his children, Richard Vernon Burgess (Rhonda) of Gray Court and Tina Leigh McElwain (John Paul) of Beaufort; his grandchildren, Adrienne Mitchell, Kaitlyn Pridemore, Reed Burgess and Lawson Burgess; his great grandchildren, Christopher Mitchell, Addison Madden, Reagan Pridemore and Lacey Garrison; and his siblings, Silas Burgess, Shirley Cooper and Shelby Tant.
