It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Peggy Sowell Lucas (Piedmont, South Carolina), born in Jefferson, South Carolina, who passed away on September 20, 2018, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parent James Gilliam Sowell; her spouse George William Lucas; and her siblings, James R. Sowell, Leroy Sowell, Thomas Elmore Sowell, Ira Sowell and Ruth Sowell.
She is survived by: her parent Laura Hilton Sowell; her daughter Teresa Meeks (Jeff); her grandchildren, William Jason Wemes (Sandy), Jeffrey Allen Wemes (Shirley) and Jeffrey Thomas Meeks; and her great grandchildren, Austin Wemes, Hannah Boykin, Kristin Wemes, Ciara Wemes, Cameron Meeks and Richard "Boo" Hammond.
