He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Louie and Sybil Weathers Godwin. He is survived by: his wife Robbin Mahaffey Godwin; his son Michael Godwin (Beth); and his grandchildren, Alee Godwin, Riley Thompson and John Parker Godwin.
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 2nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the New Hope Baptist Church (108 New Hope Rd, Pelzer, SC 29669). A memorial service was held on Sunday, March 2nd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
