She was predeceased by: her spouse Jewell Clyde Fortner; her parents, Benjamin Rufus and Ethel Ivester Jennings; and her siblings, Jimmy R. Jennings and Catherine Hill Moss.

She is survived by: her children, Robert Jewell Fortner (Angie) of Greenville and Denise Harnesberger (Brett) of Piedmont; her siblings, Billy Ray Jennings of Honea Path, Charles Lee Jennings, Betty Ellenburg of Anderson and Patsy Greer of Piedmont; and her grandchildren, Stephanie Harnesberger Andrews, Blake Harnesberger, Turner Harmon and Kirkland Fortner.

Due to Covid-19, it is suggested that masks be worn and social distancing observed.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Piedmont Heights Baptist Church, P.O. Box 36, Piedmont, SC 29673, or to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
