He was predeceased by: his parents, Roland Taft McElveen and Mary Watts McElveen; and his siblings, Betty Callicutt, Richard and Bill McElveen.
He is survived by: his children, Sandra Newton of Dallas, NC, Terry James (Chuck) of Charlotte, NC, Cynthia M. Hogan (Bradley) of Rock Hill and Phillip McElveen of Rock Hill; his grandchildren, Tina, Christopher, Trey, Crystal, Jimmy, Wendy, Katelyn and Brandon; and his brother Roland T. McElveen of Sumter. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
