He was predeceased by: his parents, McKinley Caldwell and Leila Griffin Caldwell; his wife Martha Caldwell; his son John Caldwell; his daughter-in-law Crystal Caldwell; and his siblings, Ralph, Ernest, Roy, Kenny Caldwell, Myrtle Taylor, Viola Brown and Nina Julian.

He is survived by: his brother Lewis Caldwell (Sharon) of Leicester, NC; his granddaughter Summer Caldwell Demarte (Anthony) of Woodruff; and his great grandchild Caroline Demarte.
