He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Payne and Frances Roper Payne. He is survived by: his spouse Natalya S. Payne of Piedmont; his children, Lynne Payne-Ellis of Greenville, Kenneth Edward Payne, Jr. of Spartanburg and Douglas R. Payne of Greenville; his stepson Andrey Karaganov of Easley; and his siblings, Mildred McDowell of Greenville, Eugenia and Larry Payne of Saluda. He is also survived by ten grandchildren.
