She was predeceased by: her spouse Dole Vermond Chastain; her parents, John Joseph and Ethyl Sanders Yates; and her siblings, Evelyn Yates Johnson, Nancy Yates Merck and Harold Wallace Yates.
She is survived by: her children, Dole Alan Chastain (Gail) and Rita Kathryn Chastain Shealy (John); her siblings, Johnnie Ruth Hunter and Stanley Cecil Yates; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Chastain Brantley (Thomas), Amy Kathryn Chastain, Patrick Dole Chastain (Marissa), Kathryn Dial (Chase), Melanie Shealy, Sarah Sullivan (Zack) and James Cameron Shealy (Julia); and her great grandchildren, Reid Alan, Olivia Anne Brantley, Isaiah Jacoby and Grace Monroe Dial.
