He was predeceased by: his parents, John Robert Weaver and Bert Lowery Weaver; and his siblings, Arthur Lee, Melvin Weaver, Lola Richardson and Louise Weaver.
He is survived by: his wife Lila Mae McCoy Weaver; his children, John Robert Weaver III (Mary) of Luverne, AL, Carla Hedgepath of Franklin, Christie Bedford (James) of Petrey, AL, Susan Starnes of Rock Hill, SC, Wanda Doster (Bobby) of Rock Hill, SC, Sandy Motz of Rock Hill, SC and Penny Lovell (John) of Rock Hill, SC; and his sister Edna Byrde (Gene) of Raleigh, NC. He is also survived by his 20 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
