It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joann Simpson in Piedmont, South Carolina, born in Iva, South Carolina, who passed away on August 15, 2022, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clinton Vernon Parnell and Ina Ruth Parnell Elliott; her granddaughter Chrystal; and her siblings, Pete Mickey and Jeanette.
She is survived by: her daughters, Cheryl Lollis Hill (Scott) of Edgemoor and Anita L. Block (Bob Skrabut) of Charlotte, NC; her grandchildren, Scotty Hill (Meredith), Jeffrey Goins, Jennifer Sharp (Kevin), Stephen Goins (LaSean) and Amanda Fix (Josh); her great grandchildren, Dillon, Ryder, Carter, Gunner, Autumn, Emmett, Taaj and Zakkai; and her siblings, Margaret and Pat. She is also survived by her daughters, son-in-law and grandchildren but she adored her great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Ms. Simpson's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
