He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Andrew and Nannie Mae Dilworth Merritt; and his siblings, Jimmy Merritt and Virgie Jester. He is survived by: his wife Lisa A. Merritt; his children, Jerry Merritt, Jr. and April Pace (Grady) of Piedmont; his sisters, Betty White, Nancy Lynch and Mary Rouda; his grandchildren, Jessi Pace and Dixie Pace; and his great grandchild Ada Pace.
