He was predeceased by: his spouse Blonnie Machell "Mickie" Clary Monroe; his parents, Marvin Franklin and Julie Belle McCall Monroe; and his brother Harold Monroe. He is survived by: his sisters, Janice Childress (Jimmy) of Williamston and Donna Haynie of Piedmont; and his nephew Ricky Childress (Michelle) of Belton. He is also survived by five nieces; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
