He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank B. Childress, Sr. and Flora Ellen Bennett Childress; and his siblings, Margaret Franklin, Emma Pittman, Helen Gatch and Charles Childress.
He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Reid Childress of Piedmont; his granddaughters, Danielle Hayes of Austin, TX, Jessica and Jennifer Smith of South Carolina; his great grandchildren, Anika Hayes Bednar and Lukas Hayes Bednar; and his sisters, Rachel Hollifield of Marion and Earlene Sublette of Ft. Lauderdale. He is also survived by three children.
