He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Lewis Cowart, Sr. and Ethel King Cowart; his sister Katie Cowart Vaughn; his son-in-law Andy Cason; his brother-in-law Donald Roper; his extended family Chunk Burns; and his niece Candace Guthrie.
He is survived by: his spouse Pat Brookshire Cowart; his daughters, Lisa Cason and Mistie Cowart; his grandchildren, Kylee Perkins, Dakota Reeves and Jaxon West; his siblings, Evelyn Roper and Lewis "Brudge" Cowart (Shirley); his nieces, Donna Roper, Sheryl Moss (Eric), Robin Cowart and Nanci Weeks (Larry); and his extended family, Tiffany Burns, Teresa Burns, Cruz, Dee West, Ray and Sharon Guthrie. He is also survived by several great nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews.
