He was predeceased by: his wife Marjorie Diann Taylor Freeman; his parents, John Benjamin and Agnes Lee Phillips Freeman; and his siblings, Jerry Freeman and Elaine Webb.

He is survived by: his children, Irisa Lee Freeman-Smith of Anderson, Benjamin E. Freeman of Piedmont, Randall P. Freeman of Greer and Rachel D. Freeman of Williamston; his sister Pamela Frady; his grandchildren, Andrew Fairbanks, Chastity Freeman, Kacey Combs, Sam Freeman, Audrey Combs, Tristan Freeman and Layla Hembree; his great grandchildren, Liam and Ryleigh; and his close friend Linda Massingill.

Due to Covid-19, it is suggested that masks be worn and social distancing observed.
