She was predeceased by: her child Paul J. Lanier; and her former husband Lawrence Gray. She is survived by: her sons, David O. Lanier (Dorothy) of Pleasant Garden and Daniel Gardner Lanier of Greensboro. She is also survived by wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
