It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ariel Smith (Piedmont, South Carolina), born in Anderson, South Carolina, who passed away on March 29, 2018, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parent Roy Dewey; and her siblings, Una Hoff, Therrin "Peg" Stephens, Wilva Long, Myra Markham, Charles McAlister, Marshall McAlister and Roy Dewey McAlister Jr..

She is survived by: her grandmother Ariel Lee Smith; her parent Mary McAlister (Junkins); her daughters, Sonja Smith, Cynthia Smith, Heather Smith and Melissa Smith; her sister Dorcas Allen (George) of Webster; her grandchildren, Lauren Miller, Hannah Miles, Kayla Fincher, McKenzie Lancaster, Caden Gilstrap and Chloe Jackson; her great grandchild Thomas Miles; and her siblings-in-law, Esteen McAlister, Annette McAlister, Mary McAlister, Johnny Smith and Harold Smith. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
