He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Childs and Susan Glayds Hayes Childs; and his sister Evelyn Childs. He is survived by: his sons, Chris Sanford (Robin) of Wadesboro, NC, William A. Childs of Easley and Jason Childs (April) of Pickens; his grandchildren, Courtney Childs, Jordan Childs, Bailee Cochrane and Devin Childs; his great grandchild Cameron Cochrane; and his nieces, Lynne Beacham and Lisa Gardo.
