She was predeceased by: her son Jake T. Roper; her stepfather Wilton Bryant; her brother Allen Roper; her brother-in-law Ray York; and her nephew Matthew Roper.
She is survived by: her daughter Opal Gilstrap Roper Bryant; her husband Robert Edward Dover; her children, Scott Dover (Caroline) of Piedmont, DeeDee Wilson (Harry) of Powdersville, Steve Dover (Joy) of Liberty, Brad Dover (April) of Liberty, Kim Coster (Mike) of Travelers Rest and Kevin Dover (Alecia) of Liberty; her grandchildren, Patrick (Clare), Rebecca, Taylor (Yiliu), Chandler, Ethan, Austin, Adreanna, Scott, Jesse (Megan), Seth, Emma, Daniel (Mackenzie), Kelli (Tavonta), Kaitlyn (Robbie) and Bryant; her great grandchildren, Anderson, Carter, Nora, Rohan, Roma, Ashwin, Sachin, Suri, Maddie, Harmony, Peyton, Waylon, Riggins, Taytum and Teagan; and her siblings, Linda York (Ray), Debbie Roach (Steve), Jerry Roper (Myrna), Tim Roper, Dale Roper (Missy) and Mark Roper.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the East Pickens Baptist Church (2244 Gentry Memorial Hwy, Pickens, SC 29671). A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 at the Hillcrest Memorial Park (2410 Gentry Memorial Hwy, Pickens, SC 29671).
Flowers are accepted, and memorial donations in Sylvia's honor may be made to East Pickens Baptist Church or to Bon Secours Hospice by Compassus.
