He is survived by: his parents, Charles Douglas Yates and Judy Yates Parris; his wife Christie Yates; his son Shawn Yates of Pickens; his grandchildren, Bryson Yates, Kyler Yates and Kolsten Yates; his sisters, Candi Yates and Robin Smith (Douglas); his nephews, Austin Yates and Ashton Stutz; and his niece Regan Gregory.
