He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivy Freeman and Wanza Freeman; and his siblings, David, Broadus and Debbie Patterson.

He is survived by: his wife Rebecca "Becky" Freeman; his children, Rae Holcombe and Corey Freeman (Katie); his grandchildren, Haley Poore (Ranson), Hannah Holcombe, Ivy Freeman and Max Freeman; and his siblings, Tommy, Bobby, Sammy Freeman, Ann Stancil, Sue Ellison, Patsy Bagwell, Jane Todd and June Nix. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
